Quentin Hughes, an architect who championed Liverpool and helped to ensure the city became a world heritage site, has died, aged 84.
He set up the Victorian Society’s first regional branch in Liverpool.
An obituary, in The Guardian, says numerous city buildings were spared from demolition by the way he changed people’s perceptions.
