Daniel Libeskind tells The Guardian the Victoria and Albert Museum Spiral Gallery extension could still get built even though the government turned down a funding application last month.
He says the extension is not dependent on government funding, the museum had raised many millions of pounds and a benefactor could still turn up.
He concedes it is also possible it might not get built.
