A 250,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme is being planned for the site of Chester’s former police headquarters. Swansea-based Liberty Properties has submitted plans for a £50m development to include 100,000 sq ft of offices, a 56,000 sq ft luxury hotel with up to 200 bedrooms, restaurants and 36 flats around a piazza. The architect is Phil McCormick. Cheshire Police Authority selected the developer to buy the city-centre site in April. Its empty 10-storey concrete tower will be demolished.
