Churchill Insurance is to open a sales and customer service call centre in Pearson Court, Teesdale, in January. It is its first office expansion beyond its headquarters in Bromley, Kent.
Axa Direct is also opening a customer service and call centre in Liverpool in January. It will be the companys second in the North West. It has an existing centre in Morecambe.
The Guardian puts these new developments in context. It says the North East refuses to be talked into recession despite closures.
