Growth in Italian tourism brings hotel boom

A growth in Italian tourism will increase the number of hotels in Florence by as much as 20% by 2002, with 1,500 new rooms on offer.

The growth has also led to the arrival of foreign groups such as London & Hereford which, together with CCA Group, has purchased Castello di Sammezzano, the old fort in the Reggello region that was auctioned off as a result of Catalani group’s failure.
