Gerling’s Cologne building unveiled

Top architect Norman Foster has designed a building complex for insurance company Gerling in the centre of Cologne.

The building has three towers of different heights and uses a combination of transparent aluminium – glass façade and natural stone that is already used on Gerling’s other buildings. The building encloses a courtyard with an 800m2 lake and a 3m high waterfall.

Work began on the building in April 1999 and it was unveiled recently.
