Savills goes global

Quoted property adviser Savills is linking up with US company Galbreath and strengthening its ties with German associate Eureal to provide a global advisory network.

“Clients are demanding it,” says Savills’ Stephen Rothrock. “We were not content with referral business. This will be a cross- border joint venture with designated personnel.”

Galbreath has made a name for itself in the US by providing investment and agency advice, but it is particularly strong in tenant representative services.

The company, based in Columbus, Ohio, manages 65m sq ft of commercial property from its nine US offices. Much of the new business is likely to be servicing the global property needs of multinationals.

Savills has had a formal link with Eureal for several years, but is securing it with the international joint venture. The three partners will each have an equal stake in the new company. “There is good chemistry,” says Rothrock.
