The BBC is looking for a serviced office operator to run a building at its White City Media Village, W12.
Lambert Smith Hampton has been appointed to find an operator to manage the 34,400 sq ft Indie South building, which has become surplus to the BBC’s requirements. Conventional lettings will be considered, but discussions with serviced office providers have started. LSH expects to recommend an operator within six weeks.
LSH head of London Guy Gregory, who has also worked at serviced office provider Regus, said: “It was one of a number of alternatives that we suggested they look at. The serviced office market here is still minute compared to the US, so there is enormous growth potential.”
The BBC would be guaranteed a level of rent from the serviced office provider and a share of the operational profit.
LSH has also replaced DTZ as joint letting agent with Frost & Partners for the 15,600 sq ft Indie North. Both buildings are available at £22.50 per sq ft.
LSH director Alan Browne, who is leading the marketing process with director David Earle, said: “I am confident that many of the BBC’s suppliers will be very interested in being part of the Media Village.”
