DTZ pays £3m for advisers

DTZ has paid £3.06m for Pieda, a consultancy group that advises on economic, planning and development issues.

The business will be run as a separate practice, DTZ Pieda Consulting. Around 60 of DTZ’s consultancy staff, including nine division heads, will transfer over, with more moves likely later. All of Pieda’s 68 staff are being kept on, and its directors will have three-year contracts initially.

According to DTZ, the turnover of the combined group is around £7.5m.

Chief executive Mark Struckett said that the acquisition reflects DTZ’s strategy of moving away from technical and agency work into advisory services. “There’s quite a lot of scope to grow,” he said.
