The dot.com revolution is behind a flurry of requirements for West End space.
New searches include venture capitalist 3i, rapidly expanding thoughout Europe on the back of internet start-up investment. It is seeking 9,290m2 (100,000 sq ft) for a global headquarters, through CB Hillier Parker.
US internet advertising giant DoubleClick is close to putting in an offer on Paribas’ 33 Wigmore Street. The 6,053m2 (65,160 sq ft) office scheme is available at £484.39 per m2 (£45 per sq ft) for the best space and six companies are understood to be in competition for the property.
A Lucent Technologies arm is facing competition from Texas Pacific to take the remaining 7,879m2 (85,000 sq ft) at Gefica Industries’ Adelphi building on John Adam Street, WC2.
Worldwide media giant Pearson is said to have reaffirmed its interest in taking 18,500m2 (200,000 sq ft) at Witkoff Group’s Shell-Mex House, WC2.
