WG&S in tenant rep link

Weatherall Green & Smith has joined forces with the US tenant rep firm CRESA.

The tie-up will see the Weatherall International network undertaking work for CRESA’s clients worldwide, with CRESA covering the North American real estate market for Weatherall’s clients.

Founded in 1994, CRESA is a network of individual businesses operating in 35 offices in North American cities. It is headed by former Jones Lang Wootton US chairman Michael Dow.

Revenue was $100m last year. It is one of the smaller US firms with global ambitions.

Weatherall’s New York office will continue to concentrate on agency work and consultancy, and Dow said it would work alongside CRESA’s New York office. “If this works well we could ‘co-locate’ the two offices in time,” he said.

Weatherall’s senior partner Greg Cooke said: “The link-up is working on over 46,450m2 of requirements primarily in the UK, but also in Belgium, Spain and the Nordic region.”

Weatherall recently confirmed two tie-ups in The Netherlands and Ireland. Its new Dutch operation is Weatherall Vastgoed Adviseurs and in Ireland, Dublin-based Harrington Bannon will work with Weatherall’s affiliate in Belfast, The Whelan Partnership.

  • US property consultancy Insignia has acquired Colliers BDR, the Dutch real estate services firm.

Insignia is not disclosing the price it paid for the business. Founded as BDR in 1991, it joined the Colliers International network in 1994. Colliers BDR will become Insignia BDR when the deal has closed.
