A £40m residential development in Basingstoke city centre has been granted planning permission. Housebuilder Barratt’s scheme will provide 288 apartments and include restaurant, retail and leisure amenities on the lower floors. Thirty of the homes will be for shared ownership or social rented housing and 25 for occupation by active elderly people.
