MAB has won the competition to build a major shops and offices scheme on one of Germany’s best retail pitches.
The Dutch developer is to build an 800m project on a 187,300 sq ft site in Frankfurt’s prime Zeil which it bought from Deutsche Telekom for 230m, ending years of speculation over who would carry out a scheme there.
The development will consist of 430,500 sq ft of shops, 430,500 sq ft of offices, 215,300 sq ft of restaurant and leisure uses, plus 53,800 sq ft of residential and hotels, with parking for 2,000 cars.
The Netherlands’ Bouwfonds Property Finance is to fund the venture.
