London’s congestion charge launch on Monday will be one of the most widely watched developments in transport in the world in recent years, writes the Financial Times.
Thirty-five local authorities in the UK have expressed interest in some form of urban charging.
The most likely cities to press ahead with congestion charging are thought to be Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds and maybe Birmingham.
