A UK operating board for the merged CB Hillier Parker/Insignia Richard Ellis and its 1,450 staff was announced yesterday.
Mark Creamer, the UK managing director of CBHP, will chair the board with the title of joint managing director.
“He will take responsibility for the management and integration of the UK business,” said the statement.
Martin Samworth, the UK managing director of Insignia Richard Ellis, has also been appointed joint MD.
“In addition to his role on the operating board”, said the statement, “Martin will also chair a strategic planning group, provisionally entitled the ‘2005 Group’, which will consider the long-term plan for the company.”
The news was given to staff of both firms in separate presentations at the London Marriott hotel in Mayfair yesterday afternoon, just hours after CBHP’s US parent, CB Richard Ellis, signed the $415m deal to buy Insignia, which owns Insignia Richard Ellis in Europe.
Two other members have also been appointed so far.
The first is the chairman of Insignia Richard Ellis, Mike Strong. He is also to be chairman of the merged company’s entire European operations.
The second is Nick Baucher, currently a senior executive director at CB Hillier Parker.
Alan Froggatt (pictured above), the MD of Insignia Richard Ellis, who is to become chief executive of CB Richard Ellis for Europe, is to concentrate on merging the businesses on the continent.
