The House of Lords has dismissed a local resident’s appeal over plans for a major housing development, a business park and a bypass in Longstanton.
Erine Kides, who has lived in Longstanton for 30 years, challenged High Court and Court of Appeal decisions upholding the grant of planning permission by South Cambridgeshire District Council.
She claimed that the council had failed to consider changes to housing policy contained in government guidance notes, and maintained that the original proposal no longer met with requirements for affordable housing and for the use of brownfield, rather than greenfield, sites.
The House of Lords dismissed the appeal and upheld the Court of Appeal ruling, but gave no reasons for its decision.
