Amerada Hess has released 200,000 sq ft of offices to the West End market as it plans to quit its London headquarters at 33 Grosvenor Place, SW1. The move follows the sale of its Gas & Electricity business and other restructuring that has seen staff relocation to Houston and other locations worldwide. The energy company is expected to look for a smaller West End HQ. Insignia Richard Ellis, which is advising Amerada Hess, is quoting £45 per sq ft and will let all or “substantial parts” of the building. Knight Frank had already been instructed to market around 50,000 sq ft of the building for sublessee Merrill Lynch.
