Singapore investment company BIL International said yesterday it was considering making an indicative offer for the shares in Thistle Hotels it does not own.
The news saw Thistle shares spark 7.5p to 107.5p, valuing the UK hotel group at £518.1m.
BIL holds a 45.8% stake in the group.
