CBI set to launch attack on Higgs report

Derek Higgs’ review of UK boardrooms will be subjected to a renewed attack on Monday when the CBI releases its survey detailing criticisms of his corporate government proposals for FTSE 100 chairmen.

The CBI will point out that Higgs’ proposal to elevate the role of the senior non-executive director to act as a counterweight to the chairman on the board has been a major source of concern.

Liberty chairman Donald Gordon has been one of the most outspoken critics of Higgs’ proposals.
