The Edinburgh council and Miller Development joint venture, New Edinburgh, will build a rail station at its Edinburgh Park scheme to allow a further 2m sq ft of development. In January 2001 the Scottish Executive said transport provision should be improved before more development could go ahead. New Edinburgh, Network Rail, Scotrail and the Strategic Rail Authority have agreed plans for a station at the southern end of the site. This will allow New Edinburgh to go ahead with its plans.
