Peel Holdings has won the final go-ahead for the second phase of an £18m retail and leisure park in Blackburn.
Proposals for the second phase at the Lower Audley site include
- a 30,000 sq ft (2,780 sq m) multiplex cinema
- 35,000 sq ft (3,250 sq m) of bowling
- a 22,500 sq ft (2,090 sq m) health centre
- 16,000 sq ft (1,480 sq m) of shops
- a 3,600 sq ft (334 sq m) restaurant
The first phase of the scheme, which opened last year, was a 55,000 sq ft (5,100 sq m) retail warehouse, of which Matalan took 30,000 sq ft (2,780 sq m) and Staples 25,000 sq ft (2,320 sq m).
Peel also developed and owns Blackburn Ice Arena and The Peel Centre in the Lancashire town.
