Sir Stuart Lipton is to sit on Network Rail’s property board.
Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) chairman Lipton will act as an independent adviser on the management of assets inherited from Railtrack.
The board will assist Network Rail’s Railway Estates Directorate, set up in December.
Network Rail’s representatives on the board are:
- Adrian Montague, deputy chairman of Network Rail and chairman of the property board
- John Armitt, chief executive
- Iain Coucher, deputy chief executive
- Peter Henderson, projects and engineering director
- Ron Henderson, finance director
- Deborah Richards, Railway Estates director
Other board members include:
- Corinne Swain, a member of the government’s Property Advisory Group
- David Turner, managing director of Thames Water’s property arm
- Gordon Pettitt, former manager of regional railways at British Rail
Lipton is chief executive of developer Stanhope as well as being chairman of the government’s architecture watchdog CABE.
