BCSC: Coffee bar chain Esquires to expand in the UK

Esquires Coffee Houses is seeking a dozen more sites across the UK as part of an expansion programme that will see it virtually double its outlets.

The company made the announcement at the BCSC annual conference in Manchester today.

Peter Kirton, managing director of the company in Britain, said: “We are very interested in locations in or close to shopping centres, and particularly in sites in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Cambridge, Inverness, Liverpool, north London, Manchester, Sheffield, and in Ireland, Belfast and Dublin.

The majority of the company’s recent acquisitions have been shopping centre units or mall cafes in schemes outside London.

The group said it was able to operate in sites from 8,00 sq ft to 2,000 sq ft.
