The UK arm of fashion company Hugo Boss is to swap its W1 postcode for a new office and showroom in Camden, NW1.
The company will vacate its 11,000 sq ft UK base at Hermes’ 7 Clifford Street in Mayfair next June to take 35,000 sq ft at Centro Camden, a 200,000 sq ft warehouse conversion owned by investor and developer Compco.
Hugo Boss, advised by Dunlop Heywood Lorenz, initially planned to find larger premises in Mayfair, but was lured by Camden’s cheaper rents and the Compco scheme.
It will pay £25 per sq ft at Centro Camden, compared with £44 per sq ft in Mayfair.
Hugo Boss sells the BOSS and HUGO brands through concessions in the UK, but is considering opening stores.
Edward Charles advised Compco, which has 50,000 sq ft left to lease in Camden.
