CSC buys Henderson’s stake in Potteries centre

Capital Shopping Centres (CSC) has bought the remaining 50% stake in the Potteries shopping centre in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, from Henderson Global Investors for £62.5m.

The deal means that CSC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty International, now owns the 561,000 sq ft  property outright.

John Abel, managing director of CSC, said: “The Potteries has been a consistently strong performer within CSC’s prime regional shopping centre portfolio and has a number of value-adding investment opportunities, which we are actively investigating.”

He added: “Our long-term association with Henderson has been mutually beneficial and we were pleased to be able to accommodate their changing investment allocation requirements.”

The Potteries, which is anchored by Debenhams, has a market value of £128.6m and opened in 1988.
