A well-known West Country architect has died in an accident at his home.
Richard Feilden, a founding partner of Bath firm Feilden Clegg Bradley, died when a tree he was felling crushed him.
Aged 54 and holder of the OBE, he set up the firm with friend Peter Clegg in 1978. It currently employs 90 staff.
Clegg said: “Richard had an important future not only with us here at Feilden Clegg Bradley, but also in the wider world.
“His work outside the practice was hugely important, and he will be mourned by a great many people in many different fields.
“Richard was responsible for much of the drive, the energy and the vision of the practice,” he said.
“I have spent half of my life in partnership with him, and the personal and professional loss is incalculable.”
