Edinburgh agents make a move on new developments

A number of Edinburgh agents are looking to relocate their offices within the city to take advantage of the larger floorplates on offer in new developments.

Knight Frank is moving out of its Charlotte Street offices to Miller Development’s £60m Edinburgh Quay scheme at Fountainbridge.

Knight Frank has taken the mezzanine and part of the first floor of One Edinburgh Quay. The agent has taken a total of 4,644 sq ft, and is paying £26.50 per sq ft on a 15-year lease.

While GVA Grimley is also close to agreeing terms for 8,000 sq ft at the canalside scheme at the same rent.

In the traditional business core, Colliers has taken 5,500 sq ft at 39 George Street at rent of £22 per sq ft. The space is being sublet by Deloitte & Touche on a six-year lease.

Other agents looking to move include DTZ and Montagu Evans.
