Detailed plans for the first phase of a new shopping street in Corby went before planners this week.
Tops Estates wants to build 175,000 sq ft of shops and restaurants in the town’s prime retail centre, which it owns.
The Willow Place Shopping Centre, designed by Damon Lock Gabrowski, will face the local authority’s £60m Parkland Gateway development, which includes a swimming pool, council offices, library, and college campus.
There will be 20 double-height shops within the open mall. The development is part of a regeneration framework launched in January 2003.
