Freeport exits UK with sale of Yorkshire outlet village

Designer outlet village specialist Freeport has exited the UK market with the sale of its Freeport Hornsea Outlet Village in east Yorkshire.

The group has sold the outlet centre to Stream Estates for £17.26m.

Freeport said the sale was in line with its strategy of selling fully mature assets while developing Freeport centres to maximise shareholder value.

Chairman Sean Collidge said: “The sale of Freeport Hornsea, at full value, is in line with our strategy of disposing of fully mature assets in the UK, while seeking opportunities to develop new sites in mainland Europe.

“Following the sale, the group’s portfolio of operational developments will be totally based in mainland Europe.”
