Dandara gets go-ahead for Glasgow waterfront scheme

Housebuilder Dandara has won consent for a £130m housing development at Glasgow Harbour.

The 770-home scheme marks the next phase of the £1bn regeneration of Glasgow’s docklands.

The waterfront flats will be designed by Gordon Murray and Alan Dunlop, the architects behind the Radisson SAS Hotel next to Glasgow’s Central Station.

Dandara managing director Mike Neilson said: “Glasgow Harbour is one of the most visionary urban regeneration projects in the UK and today’s decision represents a huge step forward.”

The scheme is the second of six residential phases.

Outline planning consent was granted for 2,500 flats in June 2001.

Plans for the 127-acre (51.4ha) Glasgow Harbour also include retail, leisure and commercial districts.
