AM seeks consent and funds for Wolverhampton scheme

AM Developments will this week submit a planning application to Wolverhampton council for its 600,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme in the city centre, and is stepping up its search for a funding partner.

The developer, advised by Donaldsons, is looking for £240m funding for the scheme, to be known as New Summer Row.

It was chosen as preferred developer by the council in May 2004, but compulsory purchase order issues have delayed the planning application.

Debenhams is front runner to take the scheme’s 110,000 sq ft department store. There will also be a 36,500 sq ft cinema, 15,000 sq ft of bars and restaurants, 140 apartments and 800 car parking spaces.
