Law firm to evict CWHB from City offices

Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker is looking for a larger City office, after a tenant in its present building signed up for more space.

Anglo-American lawyer Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham has been persuaded to stay on at 110 Cannon Street, EC4, by landlord Land Securities.

The firm, formed through a merger in January, had wanted to expand into 70,000 sq ft and appointed DTZ to carry out a search. It occupies 55,000 sq ft and had a lease break next March.

It has now agreed to stay in the building and take a further 23,000 sq ft including the eighth floor, now occupied by CWHB. The agent, whose lease expires this year, is now looking for an 8,000-10,000 sq ft office to accommodate its plans to treble its City office staff from 25 to 75 (27 November, p27).

Meanwhile, law firms Arnold & Porter; Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe; Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson; LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae have all cancelled searches for new offices that would have totalled 100,000 sq ft of moves.
