Planning permission has been secured to redevelop the 30,000 sq ft London Pavilion on Piccadilly Circus in London as a £5m corporate and indoor sports venue.
Events company Number One Venues secured approval for the scheme from Westminster council last week.
The Pavilion is currently being sold by owner Burford along with the adjoining Trocadero for £200m through Franc Warwick.
Mark Boyes, director of Burford, said: “Number One Venues’ concept is the first one which not only envisages a versatile and stunning interior facility, spread over five floors, but also provides a unique new venue for the heart of London.”
Number One Venues plans to create a flexible, high-quality central London venue with space for up to 1,000 guests. The venue is scheduled to open in January next year and will be funded by Lombard Capital.
Gavin Duncan Associates is the retained property agent for Number One Venues.
