KF to advise on Huddersfield regeneration programme

Knight Frank’s Leeds office has won a contract to advise Kirklees council on the economic regeneration of the greater Huddersfield area.

The firm will work with the council’s regeneration department and carry out a strategic study of Huddersfield’s economy and property market.

The report will inform the masterplan for Huddersfield for the next 10 years, assist the marketing of development opportunities, and support funding applications.

The partner in charge of the Leeds office, Mike Dove, said: “Our research will embrace a number of areas, including employment, retail and leisure, industrial property and office and mixed-use developments.

“We will be cutting across all sector boundaries to produce a holistic analysis of the region’s property market and economy.

“Our appointment reflects the growing importance and profile of Huddersfield and the surrounding area in Kirklees.

“It is in the heart of the government’s Northern Way initiative and is undergoing a remarkable social and economic renaissance.”
