Asda has bought 12 Safeways in Northern Ireland from William Morrison for £73.6m.
The purchase marks Asda’s first move into the province.
The stores are between 14,000 sq ft and 36,000 sq ft. Morrison retains a 13th store there because a price could not be agreed on construction work already under way.
