RBS takes all of 6 Atlantic Quay in Glasgow

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is taking the whole of Wilson Bowden’s 6 Atlantic Quay scheme in Robertson Street, Glasgow, in one of the biggest lettings in the city this year.

The bank is close to concluding a deal which will allow its Direct Line insurance division to move into the 77,350 sq ft office building.

RBS currently has three properties in central Glasgow Direct Line House in Cadogon Street, a site on St Vincent Street, and another on West Regent Street.

It is still unclear which buildings the bank will vacate.

Developer Wilson Bowden will now undertake construction of 4 Atlantic Quay, a 70,666 sq ft scheme fronting York Street.

Neither the bank, developer, nor agents were prepared to comment, but the bank is known to have taken a traditional lease.

Knight Frank acted for the developer while DTZ advised the bank.
