Four on North Shore

Four developers are battling it out for the £300m North Shore redevelopment in Stockton-on-Tees. Tees Valley Regeneration has shortlisted AMEC Developments, Parkridge Developments with George Wimpey, Terrace Hill and Wilson Bowden for the 56-acre brownfield site. The Benoy-designed scheme, one of the North East’s largest regeneration projects, will comprise 480 homes, 650,000 sq ft of offices, 25,000 sq ft of leisure, a 100-bedroom hotel and an expansion of Durham University’s Stockton campus. A decision on the preferred bidder will be made in August, with work due to start around Easter 2006.
