Morley plans revamp for Liverpool’s Sun Alliance House

Morley Fund Management is to create 40,000 sq ft of new office space at Sun Alliance House in central Liverpool.

The fund manager is planning a £3m refurbishment of the 1950s building, including a remodelling of the entrance on Exchange Street East.

A further 10,000 sq ft of space could be added with the addition of a glazed roof-terrace extension, which is currently under consideration by local planners.

Brian Ricketts, partner at letting agent Hitchcock Wright and Partners, said: “This is a boost for the market and shows a huge commitment and confidence in the city from one of the biggest fund managers.”

“The building is, as far as I know, unique insofar as it is the only building of any meaningful size in the core capable of offering a self-contained, high profile HQ.”

Morley purchased the building for £4.5m in December 2004.

The scheme is due to be completed next April.
