Sainsbury’s offers Bicester a fresh face

Developers for two town-centre regeneration schemes worth £150m were selected this week.

Stockdale Land and Sainsbury’s were chosen for a £75m scheme in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

The partnership pipped Bridehall, Bellway Homes and Wilson Bowden to the project, which includes a 35,000 sq ft supermarket with 60 flats on top.

A further 16 houses, Multiplex Apollo Cinema, restaurants and a health and fitness centre are planned.

The developer beat Wilson Bowden, Development Securities and Henry Davidson to the scheme, which forms the central plank of Daventry council’s 16-year redevelopment framework.
