Tesco is planning to flatten one of its out-of-town stores in Cardiff and replace it with a 100,000 sq ft superstore.
The retailer has lodged an application with Vale of Glamorgan Council for 70,000 sq ft of new food space and 30,000 sq ft of A1 non-food retail at its Culverhouse Cross site.
The store neighbours a recently expanded Marks & Spencer unit, which is one of the group’s most profitable UK sites.
