Cable manufacturer Raydex CDT has sold its warehouse in Skelmersdale, Lancashire for £3m.
The deal on the 118,000sq ft unit is one of the North West’s largest freehold shed sales this quarter.
The building sits within a 12-acre site in Skelmersdale’s West Gillibrads Industrial Estate, situated just outside the town centre, alongside the M58.
Skelmersdale is becoming increasingly popular as a distribution location thanks to the relative affordability of land when compared with more established locations.
Rob Donnelly of CB Richard Ellis, which advised the vendor, said:
“This sale completed within five weeks, which is indicative of shortage in good quality second hand accommodation currently available on a freehold basis.”
The purchaser, local distribution company BVG, was unrepresented in the deal.
Nelson Bakewell appointed CBRE’s Liverpool office as sub-agent.
