Interserve has announced it is part of a consortium the Scottish prison service has chosen as preferred bidder to build the 700-cell Addiewell prison.
The infrastructure and facilities management group reported interim pretax profits up 23% from £16.2m to £19.9m.
The improvement reflected increased government spending on social infrastructure and PFIs.
