Congestion charge zone expands westwards

London’s congestion charge zone is to double in size, mayor for London Ken Livingstone announced yesterday, bringing net revenues to the mayor’s Transport for London body of up to £40m a year.

The expansion of the zone into Kensington and Chelsea follows months of opposition from residents and business groups and will take place in February 2007.
