David Davis would seek to encourage new groups to open schools

David Davis, one of four candidates vying to lead the Conservatives to an elusive election victory, says he wants to widen choice in education with new groups allowed to open up state schools.

One of his challengers, David Cameron, is strongly opposed to the closure of special schools.

The points are included in a table comparing policy between the four candidates, in The Daily Telegraph, against the backdrop of the party’s Blackpool conference.
