Midlands sees 400,000 sq ft of shed deals this week

The Midlands saw 400,000 sq ft of shed space taken up this week.

Peugeot logistics subsidiary Gefco has taken the last major shed at ProLogis Park, Coventry. The car parts specialist will pay around £5.50 per sq ft for the 226,000 sq ft building.

It was the last major shed available at the redeveloped colliery, where Tesco took a 310,000 sq ft warehouse last year. ProLogis plans to keep the building for its own fund.

North Rae Sanders and D&P Holt acted for ProLogis. Gefco was represented by Gerald Eve.

In Nottingham, Clearway has taken Sladen Estates’ 173,700 sq ft Point 28 warehouse. The distribution specialist signed a 20-year lease on the unit, near junction 28 on the M1, at around £4.75 per sq ft.

M3 and North Rae Sanders acted for Sladen.

Sladen is also speculatively building a 183,000 sq ft shed near Stoke-on-Trent. M3, North Rae Sanders and Lamont are the letting agents.
