Huw Moseley, one of London’s leading planning consultants, was killed in a light aircraft accident at Biggin Hill in Kent on Saturday.
Moseley was a director at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) until the end of 2002, when he set up his own practice with fellow JLL employee Lisa Webb.
Moseley & Webb advises on many central London projects, notably Legal & General’s schemes in the City and midtown, and is retained as a consultant by Jones Lang LaSalle.
It is understood that Moseley, a trainee pilot, took off from the airport on Saturday morning with his instructor, Dan Neville, who had 20 years experience.
According to local reports, the plane, a Piper Tomahawk, spiralled out of control before ploughing through an electricity line.
The pilot has been hailed for his bravery in managing to steer the craft away from houses.
Air crash investigators are examining why the plane lost power.
