Bristol Airport has unveiled plans for an £80m extension following government predictions of increasing demand for air travel.
The expansion is to be carried out over the next decade as passenger levels are expected to double over this period.
The draft master plan includes adding a multi-story car park, a hotel, offices, a fuel depot and relocating the fire station.
There are no current plans to extend the runway. However, further expansion of Bristol International Airport’s boundary is planned, with the possibility of building a second terminal by 2030.
The £80m needed for the expansion is expected to come from shareholder investment.
