Liverpool-based Vermont Developments is planning a 22-storey mixed-use tower in the city.
The £100m scheme at the junction of Sefton Street and Parliament Street, to the south of the city centre, is being planned in joint venture with locally-based Ethel Austin Properties.
The proposals, the latest in a series of tower-led schemes proposed in Liverpool, include:
- 20,000 sq ft of offices
- A 132-bedroom, 4 star hotel
- 6,000 sq ft of local retailing
- 400 underground car parking spaces
- A public plaza
- 398 homes, including town houses and family apartments
- A further 53 affordable homes
Sefton Street has been highlighted by the council as potentially suitable for high-rise development.
However, a 51-storey tower scheme planned by Maro Developments at nearby Brunswick Dock has already been refused planning consent twice.
Other tower-led schemes, including Chieftain Construction’s proposals for a 32-storey scheme on Skelhorne Street, have also had a tough time at the hands of the council.
Vermont is owned by local entrepreneurs Mark Connor and Paul Bolton.
Ethel Austin is a sister company of the retailer of the same name.
The scheme, known as Sefton Street Quarter, has been designed by Falconer Chester.
