Regulations change will shake up Cambridge investment mix

Changes in regulations that govern charities will enable Cambridge University to get exposure to more exotic asset classes such as private equity and hedge funds.

It currently holds 70% of its assets in equities, 15% in property and 15% in fixed income and cash.

It has established a new investment board under the chairmanship of Michael Dobson, chief executive of Schroders.
