Boots the Chemists has taken 9,000 sq ft over three levels at the Eldon Square Shopping Centre in Newcastle.
The store, at 2-4 Sidgate, was taken on a 10-year lease at rent of £225,000 pa.
The location takes advantage of owner Capital Shopping Centre’s (CSC) plans for a new Lower Mall connecting the Bus Station to Old Eldon Square.
CSC has been granted planning consent for a £170m remodelling and extension of Eldon Square, providing 480,000 sq ft of new retail space, a new bus station and improved pedestrian access.
Boots intends to open the store in June 2006.
